The 6-step sequence (from kurdify.app/invest, section 12)
- Months 0-1: grants and cloud credits, 0% equity (Five One Labs, KAPITA, Microsoft/Google/AWS, Canadian SR&ED/IRAP/Futurpreneur). See
forms/official-forms-directory.md. - Months 1-2: legal setup. Incorporate the holdco (Delaware C-Corp via Stripe Atlas or Clerky, or ADGM), IP assignment and 83(b) at incorporation. Hire a startup lawyer.
- Months 2-3: angel pre-seed on the SAFE at the $6.5M cap, ~$500k, bundle small cheques through an SPV (Odin).
- Months 3-4: optional community round (Republic / Wefunder) for diaspora investors.
- Months 5+: seed round with a MENA or Canadian VC once revenue is live.
- Always: monthly investor updates (template in forms/), DocSend for the deck, Airtable/Notion as the investor CRM.
Rules baked into these documents
- All traction numbers are real and dated. Never inflate; update from /api/stats before each send.
- Pre-revenue is stated plainly (payment rails live, first revenue expected at Erbil launch).
- No private "fund" pooling, no deposit schemes; SPV via a licensed platform only.
